GROVES/FROCH 2

Posted on May 31, 2014 at 10:17 AM Comments comments (31)
Welcome to our first blog of the season, many thanks for your patience while we change the outlay of the site which should be finished by the end of next week.
Already this season has seen some outstanding fights, the maidana.mayweather fight was a real struggle for money and hopefully a rematch will be on the cards come september.Juan Mnauel Marquez once again turned back the years in a fine performance against mike alvarado and if you never caught the Mattyshe/Molina Jnr fight definetly a contender for fight of the year, was also good to see Gavin Rees bow out in another war.
Hopefully tonights fight will be added to the long list of cracking fights so far seen, along with many others i felt first fight should have been allowed to continue a while longer but on the same token cannot critiscise Howard Foster for protecting a fighter for anyone who has forgotten how quickly the cobra can turn a fight round they should watch his fight against Jermaine Taylor.I still cant decide a 100 per cent which way tonight will go but whilst likint to see a Groves win i think he showed everything he had to offer in the 1st fight which was why it was such a corker so just feel Froch is going to get the win with late stoppage or points, then again he could grow old overnight so its certainly going to be an intriguing fight and will be available on the site midweek.

CleverlyBarker

Looking forward to a big weekend for British fighters this weekend as Nathan Cleverly takes on the big hitting Sergey Kovalev and Darren Barker takes on Daniel Geale, both are winnable for the Brits but there ones that could be interesting, with big punchers theres always the chance of walking onto that one big punch and in Barkers fight hes taking on a very under-rated Champion,i can see Nathan getting the win on points but also fancy Geale to box and spoil hes way to a win.
Its also good to see finally promoters realising us Fans want to see more than a big fight with hours of cheap undercards as its been announced that on the Mayweather/Alvarez card Danny Garcia is to take on Lucas Martin Mattyshe its going to be a barnstormer of a fight and a welcome addition to a fantastic season of top notch fights.
Theres been much talk about Deontay Wilder being the saviour of American Heavyweight and whilst a lot have a downer on him being not proven hes record speaks for itself with 29 wins and 29 kos,its time to put him in with the Klitschko brothers theres been many the brothers have chosen lately with a much less impressive record.Del Boy Chisora took on Vitali with a lot less experience and gave Dr Ironfist his toughest fight since Lewis. We will certainly be keeping an eye on Wilder as somewhere down the line we can see him being a Champion.
Hope everyone has good weekend of boxing and best of luck to Nathan and Darren.

GARCIA vS MATTYSHE

An exciting addition to the Mayweather/Alvarez card will see Danny Garcia take on Lucas Mattyshe, almost definetly will be an exciting fight to watch and personally i am just leaning towards Mattyshe to get the win although out of all the fights coming up this is certainly the hardest to call.Congratulations to Dereck "Del-Boy" Chisora on another good win and much improved performance than that against Avila.

Big Season

Welcome to our first blog for a while which we hope to blog on a more regular basis now the site is almost where we want it to be along with buying in mew stock regularly.

Firstly we would like to congratulate Steve Collins Jnr Son of the great Steve Collins winning his pro-debut over 4 rounds vS Stanislav Makarenkoopnts.

In the office we are also looking forward to a massive season in boxing starting in September with Floyd Mayweather
Jnr taking on Saul Alvarez, this looks to be an exciting fight with canelo trying to walk him down and catch him while Floyd does what he does best and tries not to get hit,the general consensus in the office is for Mayweather to take another points victory in atough encounter,i tend to go with that although the image of Mayweather clinging to the waist of an aging Shane Mosley in the 2nd sticks in the head and makes you wonder if canelo catches him a few good ones then his 0 could go.
After that we have the big British Domestic Showdown as David Haye takes on Tyson Fury, the general opinion is for Fury but i reckon Haye will catch him at some point and game over Fury struggled against an out of form Chisora who Haye dispatched the iron chinned Del Boy in five. The average hitter Steve Cunningham knocked Fury over and if Haye catches him one like that Fury wont get up.
After that Klitschko/Povetkin finally get it on and although Povetkin is a credible challenger and his hardest test for a while i think Klitschko will stink out the place to get a points win.
Next should be a very intetresting one as Pac-Mans last 2 opponents get it on.Against Provodnikov Bradley finally showed that when the going gets tough hes tough enough to get going but i fancy the old warhorse to have just a little bit to much for desert storm to edge out a points win.
After this is the one that has really split opinion right down the middle and the one im most looking forward to as Pacquiao and Rios go to war and it will be as those to know only one way to fight but again im picking Pacquiao to have just to much experience to gain a points win again.
On the subject of David Price after the two losses to Tony Thompson its easy enough to write him off whereas i think it was admirable that Price was prepared to take on such a seasoned pro,its easy to forget that Thompson has only ever lost to top notch fighters so Price should get back on the horse take a few easy fights to regain his confidence then see as he feels after that.
For quite a while now we have been screaming about Golovkin so its good to see him getting the recognition he is due after he dismantled the tough durable Macklin in 3,any talk of Golovkin being one of Mayweathers future opponents is a waste of time catchweight or not Mayweather is not going to want any part of the hardhitting Golovkin,
Mattyshe may be a future one for Floyd to look at but again its a risky fight for Floyd.

Froch/Kessler 2

Posted on June 1, 2013 at 11:33 AM Comments comments (68)

Theres still much debate over whether Froch/Kessler 2 was better than the first but who cares once again two warriors put
on great battle that cries out for a third battle,Froch wants rematch vS Andre Ward although see the result being the same but
Froch has certainly earned the chance for another crack at it.The 2nd is also being talked about as potential fight of  the year
along with Bradley vS Provodnikov and Rios vS Alvarado 2 so already its a poke in the eye for all detractors of the great
sport.
If you havent yet seen the Giullermo Jones vS Dennis Lebedev its certainly another cracker but im with the majority in
thinking the great Kosta Tszyu made a mistake in not pulling Lebedev out sooner.
There also seems to be a glut of potentially good fights signed or open to purse bids at moment in Mayweather Jnr vS Canelo Alvarez,Wladimir Klitschko vS Alexander Povetkin which should be Wlads toughest fight in years and the vastly
underrated Gennady Golovkin vS Britains Matthew Macklin,im a big fan of Golovkin and believe if he can get shot at Martinez would be one to topple Sergio.

Froch/Kessler

This is a polite notice this blog is for a boxing site not to advertise lebouttin shoes, tiffany rings or anything else that has been appearing on the blogs so please if posts are not about boxing please dont waste mine and readers time.
On to last few weeks no doubt Ricky Burns got lucky and Jaimie Mcdonnell put in good performance and deserved win.
Felt a certain amount of empathy for Lee Purdy came in for a lot of critiscm fo going in overweight in world title fight against
Alexander but remeber Lee was late substute due to continued postponement of alexander /brook.
For anyone who has not seen dennis lebedev/giullermo jones its quite brutal we was also sad to see Sugar Shane Mosley
win as this will maybe encourage him to continue and end up stepping stone for the young bucks when should be first nod
for hall of fame.
Onto this weekend and Froch/Kessler looks to be another cracker although dont think will have same intesity as first fight
will certainly be cracker and we go for Froch on points win.
Many thanks go to Rob whose been keeping blog busy whilst sorting site out and we always find his blogs enjoyable
and informative so many thanks once again.
Finally please remeber if its not boxing we dont need it.

Mayweather/Guerrero

Welcome to our first blog in a while, apologies for that but we have been busy revamping and altering the site about which hopefully will be finished this week and major change is British Career Sets has now gone and all sets are now
listed on main site as are many of the older new-in sets.
We have had quite a few top draw fights recently who ever thought Tim Bradley would be in an exciting fight that really pushed him but if havent seen fight against Provodnikov yet its already a strong contender for fight of the year
along with alvarado vS rios 2 everyone knew it was going to be a cracker and even though rios stopped alvarado in the
first fight was always going to be a call them fight so hopefully they sign up for rubber match.
Onto this weekends big fights and Wlad shouldnt have to many problems against pianetta onto Moneys big fight and hats off to Jnr for once again taking on a young live opponent,we always get the feeling that Floyd can always dig something out to get the win but on this one im actually struggling as Robert is a four time world champ himself and the sort of fighter that may well give Jnr more problems that he can handle at this stage in his career.I feel Floyd has just got enough left in the tank to get close points win but wouldnt be to suprised if suffered first loss.

Donaire/Rigondeaux

Posted on April 13, 2013 at 2:27 PM Comments comments (19)
Some sad losses in the sport recently with the loss of Carl "The Truth" WilliamS,Johnny DuPlooy and Michael Norgrove may they all rest in peace.
Onto this weekends big fight and im opting for Donaire on points, will lack the intesity of the recent Bradley/Provodnikov and Alvarado/Rios rematch but should be one for the purists with Rigondeaux being cagey enough to avoid a knockout but Donaires work rate should see him grab the win.
Thankfully the changes to the site are nearly finished and we have plenty of new stock in to list with John Duddy,
Alfredo Angulo and Vic Darchinyan.

FOURTH TIME LUCKY

Posted on December 6, 2012 at 5:28 PM Comments comments (66)
Welcome to our first blog for a while and firstly we would like to thank Rob for the blogs posted its much appreciated, once again we have been asked about the views on the big fight this weekend as Pacquiao and Marquez meet for a 4th time, simply put this fight is about redemption for the Pacman as we was asked why he never put the record straight vS Bradley, simply put fighting Bradley again would prove nothing everyone knows Pac won the first fight so fighting him again will achieve nothing whereas with Marquez theres always that question mark over all the fights personally i felt the first two fights were called right although an argument could be made that if you  get knocked down 3 times in the 1st round making it a 10-6 rnd and still come back to earn a draw chances are you did win.The 3rd fight scoring we was with the majority in believing Marquez won fairly well, there were things i saw in there that worried me at times Pacman wasnt closing Marquez down or cutting off the ring but was getting so frustrared he was reaching an amateurish move and one thats extremely dangerous against a counterpuncher like Marquez. We see this fight going one of two ways either Marquez finally gets the decision he deserves or stung by all the critiscm over his last two fights Pac turns back the clock and puts in one of his performances of old.The Pacman needs to make himself relevant again which was why he took Marquez if he gets the k.o he finally puts to rest his nemesis for to long and puts him back on equal terms with Mayweather again. What does worry us is that the Pacman may fight like he did against Bradley although we felt he won clearly with to many rounds he was trying to steal the rounds by working for a minute a round he cant do that against Marquez this fourth fight may well turn out to be the best yet because for both theres so much at stake.
